Does Your Car Make the Grade?

As the end of summer nears, students are getting ready to head back to school. Whether it’s driving to college or carpooling with other neighborhood families, a properly maintained car is the safest, most dependable way to go.

“When your passengers are your children and their classmates, making sure your car gets more than a passing grade is extra important,” said Rich White, executive director, Car Care Council. “A preventive maintenance check-up and having any repairs performed will give parents peace of mind as their children travel to and from school.”

To make sure your car gets high marks for safety and dependability, the Car Care Council recommends a 21st century tune-up be performed to make sure the following systems are in proper working order: battery, charging and starting; engine mechanical; power train control; fuel; ignition; and emissions.

In addition, the following items should be in peak condition for car pool season: tires and tire pressure; brakes; hoses and belts; air filters; wipers; exterior and interior lighting; and fluid levels, including engine oil, power steering, transmission, brake, windshield washer solvent and antifreeze/coolant.

The Car Care Council also suggests that all vehicles have a roadside emergency kit on-hand that includes items such as flares, a first aid kit, a tire-changing jack, a tire pressure gauge, jumper cables and a blanket. In addition, important telephone numbers should be stored in the glove box or cell phone in case of a breakdown or emergency.

After a detailed research for a mechanic and believe me I did a research that was so in depth I made the decision to with Mastermind Enterprises. I have a 1998 Jeep 4x4 Sport, I needed a tune up it was making a Loud noise and I not knowing a thing about cars (I had a mechanic as my best friend in CA). I called and spoke to Heidi she quoted me a price and that price was in the price range I could afford, I took the Jeep in met Heidi and her husband Norm (great guy). Norm tuned up my Jeep and found the root of my Loud noise, he actually showed me. Because I am one of those type of people I need to see the reason and BOOM! There it was...I will be taking my Jeep back to Mastermind to have Norm service it from now on, I have truly been Lucky to find "My Mechanic.""

I can't speak to the quality of the work performed here because I only got an inspection and estimate (my engine was shot and not worth the replacement). FOR SALE! 1959 354 Hemi US Navy Military Dodge M8-D700 Truck Tractor

This is a 1959 M8-D700 over the road truck tractor with a 354 Hemi engine. It has 59,000 original miles on the original matching numbers virgin 354 Hemi. The best part is this truck RUNS and DRIVES! Very strong motor that does not smoke or knock. This truck has very little rust, mostly in the fender wells. This is a prime candidate for restoration. Someone with the extra time can restore this truck and sell it to a museum for big profits. You may just want the hemi engine out of it. Either way, we are asking $4000 or best offer whether you want the whole truck or not. 

This truck has a hydraulic clutch with a new master and slave, new battery, new plug wires, and a rebuilt carb. It has a factory tach in the dash, 5 speed shift on the floor and air brakes that WORK and sound really cool. This thing would make world's coolest rat rod. No title on this, but for an extra $500 we will get you one. It is very easy to get one yourself, if you prefer.
