Breathe Deep With Your Cabin Air Filter

Bad air quality while you're driving around Denver is nothing to sneeze at. But seriously, more and more vehicles these days come equipped with a cabin air filter. Since they're fairly new on the scene, a lot of folks don't know about them yet.

These filters clean the air in the passenger compartment, or cabin, of your car or truck. They do the same job as the furnace filter you have at home. They can filter out particles as small as thee microns. By contrast, a grain of sand is about 200 microns.

So your cabin air filer can clean out dust, pollution, pollen and spores, to keep the air in your car nice and clean. And just like your furnace filter, they need to be replaced when they get dirty. Check your owner's manual, but they typically need to be replaced every 12,000-15,000 miles.

The filter is usually either under the hood or under the dashboard. Some are a little tricky to get to, so you'll want to have your Denver Colorado service center, Mastermind Enterprises Auto Repair Shop, take care of replacing them.

Many people don't realize they have a cabin air filter and go to their shop complaining about a funky smell in the ventilation system or the air conditioning not getting their car cold enough. It turns out to be a cabin air filter that was long overdue for replacement – really dirty and starting to smell. A quick replacement and they were on their way and smelling fine.

People who are allergy sensitive can really benefit from a cabin air filter, as it keeps allergens to a minimum. If you're one of them, you'll want to stay on top of your filter replacement schedule. It also helps when the air conditioning is functioning properly, but not getting your car cold enough because the air flow is limited by a plugged or dirty cabin air filter.

Of course if you do a lot of driving in dusty or polluted conditions, you'll need to change your cabin air filter more often.

The Road to Success

The world's greatest icons have experienced more failures than most people. Success and failure are often seen as black and white. If being successful is seen as good, then failing is seen as bad. We become so focused on trying not to fail, so we avoid taking any risks. We hold ourselves back from living life to the fullest, from learning about life and like it or not, from exposure to opportunities for success.

It's easy to get disappointed when pursuing your dreams. Just keep going after your dreams because no matter how many times you fail, you will be advancing beyond the others who are simply doing nothing.

Our Story – We started our auto repair shop in Denver because Norm had "failed" at finding a good job as a mechanic with an honest auto repair shop. His last job before starting his own company was at a Honda specialty shop in Golden, CO. Norm questioned the owner of the shop after being asked to perform repairs on a car that were not needed. He was fired on the spot. The owner threatened Norm with a lawsuit if he talked to a single customer before he walked out the door. This was the first time he had ever been fired for his entire professional career. It was also the last time he would work for someone else in the automotive industry. Norm came home, talked to his wife, Heidi, and they decided to change their future. He turned his failure into the success of owning his own auto repair shop with only $100, a desire to treat his auto repair customers the best and a family that stood behind him. The rest is history on how we became Denver's Top Rated Auto Repair Shop for Quality and Honesty! Our recipe for success is simple - Treat others how you would like to be treated!

Famous people who were successful through failure

Johnny Depp – He was first a telephone marketer who sold ballpoint pens, BUT he never made a single sale. His friend Nicolas Cage encouraged Depp to try acting.

Michael Jordan – He was cut from his high school basketball team. This is what Michael had to say about his failures - “I have missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I have lost almost 300 games. On 26 occasions I have been entrusted to take the game winning shot, and I missed. I have failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”

JK Rowling – Before her success with Harry Potter books, she was a divorced mother on welfare who wrote a novel in her free time all while going to school. This is what Rowling had to say about failure in her life - “Rock bottom became a solid foundation on which I rebuilt my life.”

The Beatles – Decca Records, a popular British record label said about The Beatles - “We don’t like their sound, and guitar music is on the way out.” This was based on the notion that they believed four-piece guitar groups were finished.

Thomas Edison – He wrote this quote during his many attempts to create the light-bulb - “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”

Babe Ruth – Held the record for being struck out 1,330 times in addition to setting the record for home runs. Babe said -“Every strike brings me closer to the next home run.”

Steve Jobs – Fired from the very company he created. “Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don’t lose faith. I’m convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did.”

You – Do you know someone whose failures didn’t stop them, no matter what happened? Share your story (or theirs) by commenting below.

~ John Wayne

"Whether you think you can or think you can't...you're right."
~ Henry Ford
